Welcome to WOKAS
The Weald of Kent Art Society is a fun, vibrant and friendly group of enthusiasts of all ages and artistic levels.
We embrace art in all its forms and have demonstrations and talks, members' painting sessions and painting days out, as well as exhibitions - the most recent being the online 2020 summer Art Unlocked exhibition.
This website is where members can share some of their art and provides information about current and future events.
Non-members are very welcome to browse this website to find out more about the society and its artists.
We hope you like what you see and are tempted to join us via the membership page.
News
Winter Exhibition December 2019
This was our last exhibition at Zion Baptist Church, but by no means the least.
The variety and quality of works on display was much appreciated by visitors. See more on the exhibition page, where you can also find photos of the exhibits and best picture voting results.
The WOKAS Chairman's Prizes were awarded to students studying art at Cranbrook School - the standard of work was exceptional. It was very difficult to pick a winner but it was Clara Franke's huge and emotive drawing that just pipped the runners up to the post.

Artist Profiles
We are building up a set of member profiles that will help you get to know us better and, hopefully, encourage you to find out more about our work and possibly even consider becoming a WOKAS member!
David Aspinall
The first six profiles feature long standing members David Aspinall, Joan Palmer, Graham Lock, Sara Smith, Gareth Smith. and Clive Dand.
Challenges release stunning art from lock-down
We are running creative art challenges where members have just two or three weeks to produce a piece of art to a specific theme.
The results have been amazing across a whole
range of media ... pen, pencil, watercolour, oil, acrylic, clay, maplewood and more.
Summer 2020 produced over 90 pictures across 8 challenges, and these may be seen together with those from the ongoing events at 2020-21 Art Challenge.
