WOKAS programme

The programme, including en plein air days, workshops, demonstrations, and social events, is shown below.

Demos, talks, and members’ painting sessions are free to all WOKAS members and guests are welcome for a fee of £6 - no need to book.

Saturday workshops cost £30 (£35 for non-members) and must be booked in advance (see booking details below)

All indoor sessions are held at Highbury Hall, Highbury Lane, Tenterden TN30 6LE.

Set within tranquil grounds on the banks of the Medway, The Friars, Aylesford Priory offers a wonderfully reflective setting for outdoor painting. The combination of historic buildings, sheltered spaces and soft landscape provides a range of compositions, from architectural studies to more intimate garden scenes.

Life drawing Session One

Life Drawing (Block of 4 sessions – £40, booked in advance)
Thursdays 24 Sept, 22 Oct, 12 Nov, & 10 Dec 2026
Each session features a different model with a mix of short and long poses. Work in your preferred medium, from pencil and charcoal to pastels, ink, watercolour or oils. There is no formal tuition, but experienced members are always happy to offer advice. A great way to develop your drawing skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

WOKAS painting workouts - the 'Challenges'

Starting in the lockdown of 2020 our ‘Painting Challenges’ continue to keep our members busy. With our members working to a specific theme for each challenge, an astounding number of diverse works of art have been produced - all of these pictures can be seen online
