Starting in the lockdown of 2020 our ‘Painting Challenges’ continue to keep our members busy. With our members working to a specific theme for each challenge, an astounding number of diverse works of art have been produced - all of these pictures can be seen online

There is usually no need for members to register for these painting days – guests are also welcome. However, it is always a good idea to check that there have not been any last minute adjustments to the programme.
At each venue we meet at 10.30am before heading off to paint.
Please contact Wendy Phillips on 0796 7631150 or wend29@hotmail.com with any queries.
Thursday 4 May

Thursday 6 July.
Boldshaves garden. Boldshaves Lane, Woodchurch TN26 3RA.
Beautiful garden which will be open just for us. The cafe will also be open. The gardens are extensive, the house is in the arts and crafts style which will inspire those who love architecture. There are also extensive views over open countryside from the garden. A really exciting venue. There will be an entrance fee to pay of £8.50.
Wednesday 26 July
Benenden Girls School. TN17 4AA
We will have exclusive use of the terrace overlooking the extensive grounds with the back drop of an architecturally interesting building. Toilet facilities will be available but no refreshments, please bring your own. Parking at main entrance.
Thursday 17 August
Tenterden Trout Waters, Coombe Farm, Chennell Park Road, Tenterden, TN30 6XA This venue has all we would ask for – water with great reflections, landscape with a view over to St Mildreds, buildings and what is more our own kitchen with tea and coffee and cabin with a lake view. £5 charge payable.
Tuesday 29 August
St Mathews Warehorne , TN26 2LJ
St Mathews has amazing views from high ground over to the marshes. The church itself is also most attractive. The pub opposite is not open on a Tuesday so the lane should be quiet. The pub itself would make an interesting subject. There are toilets available in the church.
Tuesday 12 September
Tenterden Station, Kent and East Sussex Railway, Station Road, Tenterden TN30 6HE
The station will not be operating a service on this day so we can relax and not have passengers looking at our efforts. The trains will be stationary which will be a bonus. Toilets will be available but the cafe will be shut.
Thursday 21 September
Smarden, meet under the arch next to the Art Gallery, next to the church, St Michael the Archangel TN27 8QD On road parking. The village offers great scope, the church and church yard are impressive and there are so many interesting buildings on the high street.
